IScheduleD Portfolio Manager 2.0 Quick Start Guide

Choose a Portfolio

Click on "Choose Portfolio ..." to open a dialog window, where you can create, delete, rename, and open portfolios.

 

Enter a new portfolio name, e.g., "My ShareBuilder". Click on OK.

 

Select portfolio "My ShareBuilder" and click on Open to load it.

 

Import Stock and Option Trades

Click on the "Import" button to bring up Data Importer.

Choose your broker (e.g., ShareBuilder) from the dropdown menu. Click on the "Choose File ..." button to choose a data file you have obtained from your broker's website. Then, click on "Next".

 

Data Importer shows all the stock and option trades from your data file. After verifying your trades, click on "Next".

 

Data Importer will check if there are duplicate trades. In this example, there are no duplicates. You can click on "Add to Portfolio" to confirm that you want to add the displayed trades to your current portfolio.

 

Export Stock and Option Trades to Spreadsheet and Excel

Click on the "Export" button to bring up Data Exporter.

You can export all the stock and option trades in your current portfolio to a .csv file.

You can also choose to export stock and option trades for a particular year or a specified time period.

 

Click on "Export to Spreadsheet" to save the selected stock and option trades to a .csv file.

 

Generate Capital Gains and Losses Reports

Click on the "ScheduleD" tab.

Choose your tax year (e.g., 2009) and then click on "Next".

 

iScheduleD Portfolio Manager calculates your capital gains/losses, wash sales deferred to next year, and etc.

You can check or uncheck "Compute Wash Sales" to examine all the wash sales throughout the tax year.

You can choose "All", "Long Term" and "Short Term" to see how your capital gains is distributed.

 

You can click on "Print" to print capital gains and losses report, which is similar to Form 1099.

You can click on "Export to TXF" to generate a TXF file for import into tax software such as TurboTax and TaxCut.
