ETrade customers can use iScheduleD Portfolio Manager, TXF Creator or TXF Online to convert stock and option trades to the standard TXF format, which can be easily imported into tax software TurboTax and TaxCut. You can import two types of trade data from ETrade in the form of .CSV file.

Import Realized Gain/Loss from ETrade

1. Log into your E*Trade account.
2. Go to Trading & Portfolios.
3. Click on Tab Portfolios.
4. Click on Tab Gains & Losses.
5. Select appropriate year in Box Tax Year and then click on submit.
6. Click on the Download link next to a green arrow at the top-right of the page.
7. Save the download as gainlossdownload.csv file.

Import Stock Transactions from ETrade

1. Log into your E*Trade account.
2. Go to Accounts.
3. Click on Account Records.
4. Click on Tax Reports under Brokerage Account Records.
5. Choose from the Account drop down menu.
6. Click on the Download link next to a green arrow.
7. Save the download as tradesdownload.csv file.

If you are an active trader, you may consider using iScheduleD Portfolio Manager or TXF Creator to combine your daily trades without additional charges.

Recommendations

We recommend that you download realized gain/loss data from ETrade to generate TXF files. After generating a .txf file using TXF Creator or TXF Online, please verify your Total Long-Term Gain/(Loss) and Total Short-Term Gain/(Loss). If these two figures match those in your download data, you have successfully converted your trade data to TXF files, which can be correctly imported into tax software TurboTax and TaxCut.
